Artwork Revisited...

After looking at my art wall and taking stock of what has sold and what hasn't, I grabbed these three paintings off the wall and decided to do something else with them....the ones on the top are the original and on the bottom are the "newer versions". Claude Monet once said "I say that whoever claims to have finished a canvas is terribly arrogant." I can tell you one thing I'm not, and that's arrogant! I see no reason not to go back and do something different when you end up not being satisfied. Why do we settle for complacency when there is no reason for it after all? I think they are much deeper in color and have alot better texture. Of course I'm not sure what to think about the pieces I have done that everyone loves, but haven't sold, such as Inferno, Mystic River and Half a Mind!!! You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please everyone all the time - or something like that!!!

Kelly, I just love that you are able to jump in and change things. Having seen these in person, I know that your "changes" are positive. But, I have to say the photo of that second painting after you changed it...doesn't show just how exceptional that painting has become in it's second incarnation. It is fantastic.......you go girl!!!! Loveya, Mom
